The problem is that I took too long putting the episode together. Now Agora is neither in theaters nor on DVD. Once it is released on video, I'll probably start plugging the episode a lot more. In the meantime, I'm glad you got something out of it. As for Meghan, you can find some of her work at www.meghanwitzke.com. Thanks.

Haven't seen Agora but best episode yet for me. Lovely to have that rare thing - a female voice on a movie podcast & Meghan was a wonderful guest.
Never thought as an agnostic/bordering atheist I'd so look forward to an American Christian podcast. England is a pretty non-religious country (at least compared to the US) & most of the TV/Radio shows we do get tend to be 'Christians' spreading fear & hate or exploiting people's faith for large financial gain so have built up quite a prejudice to the Christian media over the years. Lovely to have a host (& his guests) have such interesting movie conversations & express their faith in such intelligent, articulate & logical ways (can totally see where Tyler's coming from) without feeling judged, dismissed or a 'bad' person for not sharing the same views.
Great Job (My best friend the local Vicar is now a big fan of the show).

If you enjoy listening to a reasonable type of Christianity, I highly recommend this series of sermons from Tim Keller. We mentioned him in this episode; he wrote a book entitled "The Reason For God." I enjoy his sermons a great deal and recommend them to everybody that's even mildly interested in Christianity. itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/timothy-keller-podcast/id352660924

As usual can't sleep (Daughter has inherited the same problem much to the annoyance of my poor old wife) so going to have a listen now

Yeah, that's right. I'm quoting myself. Just wanted to let you know that Agora has finally been released on DVD. Seek it out when you get the chance.

As it turns out, it's one of the best movies I've seen in some time. Your comparison to A Beautiful Mind was apt because I too was let down by that movie for largely the same reasons you were. As a former math major, I wanted A Beautiful Mind to tap into the feeling of excitement through research and discovery, but that film and other films like it never did that for me. Agora was the first to succeed in that regard. As always, your discussion was interesting and thoughtful. It was nice to hear input from a female guest. Thanks for highlighting this overlooked movie.
