I really do like Tyler. His criticism was valid and probably correct but that was a pretty intense rant over a children's fantasy film from a guy who voted pro torture in real life. I'm listening to the podcasts out of order so maybe this gets addressed in subsequent shows.

I really do like Tyler. His criticism was valid and probably correct but that was a pretty intense rant over a children's fantasy film from a guy who voted pro torture in real life. I'm listening to the podcasts out of order so maybe this gets addressed in subsequent shows. I wrote an apology in the blog for my tone in this episode and went on to apologize in the next episode for my intensity. The link to the blog entry is below. However... I find myself wondering what you hope to accomplish by saying what you said, the way that you said it. I assume that you're referring to my voting Bush/Cheney in the past; a vote that I have subsequently mentioned regretting. You act as though, because I did something that you didn't like years ago, then came to regret that action, I'm some kind of hypocrite for speaking out against the thing I did in the first place. There is already so much anger and accusation on the internet already, why add to it in a public forum setting? I'm sure that my episode made you angry, but you have my e-mail address and we've conversed about these types of things already. Why not just send me a private e-mail? I realize that there's an argument to be made that, since my episode is put out there in the public, I should be called out in the same way. But, as I mentioned, I already- of my own accord- apologized in a blog and in the next episode. I recognized my mistake and took the steps to correct it. I realize that not many people are using this forum, but I would prefer if we all tried to adopt a more civil tone rather than throw around hyperbolic, seemingly-gotcha type statements. There are already plenty of forums for that. Link to the blog: morethanonelesson.blogspot.com/2010/01/accountability-by-tyler-smith.html

You're right. I should have snooped around more to see if that topic had been addressed. I didn't intend my remark to be hurtful. You have my apology.
